Kim Chigi Artist Statement Constant energy generated by our surroundings gives rise to a multitude of sensations which include joy, fear, ease, trauma, tenderness, pain, love, darkness and compassion. These sensations can lure our emotions and sometimes alter our perspective of who & what we become based on how we interpret them in the moment. Visualizing narratives & imagery derived from the energy and sensations of our environment are focal points of my work/compositions. Self-evolution & creativity are key elements in my process; therefore, the use of extreme joy and extreme sadness is vital in the creation of my work. I strive to embrace energy in all forms and I hope to transform it into something more tangible in order to develop my skills as an artist.Bio Kim Chigi is a painter & printmaker.
