Chris Yates Artist Statement I began my work with clay at CSU Chico in 1974 with Jack Windsor. After apprenticing with Derek Andrews in England in 1977, I returned to continue my ceramic education and work here as a potter. My work has been shown throughout Northern California. I work primarily with porcelain and often focus on carved designs representing the beauty of nature. I enjoy the crisp lines and brilliant jewel-like colors that can be achieved with porcelain and endeavor to share that pleasure with others. I currently show my work at the Avenue 9 Gallery. |
