Dear ChiVAA members and friends,

Yes, it’s time to renew for next year and it’s so wonderful now to be able to do it on line, with the help of our newly designed and more flexible Word Press website.  As you explore the navigation tabs, you’ll find Artists, Art Venues, ARTabout, Art Fiesta, Memberships and Events (this one still under discussion/development).  You will also see that our Chico Visual Arts Facebook page has got a running stream of news as they get posted.

It’s great because now you can get current information on the ARTabouts and sign up on line through the ARTabout page!  SOPO is coming up this very week.  I plan to attend and take pictures to post on Facebook and maybe even come up with a video for You Tube!!

For the purposes of Membership Renewals, I encourage you all now to go to the Membership tab.  You’ll find that the scroll-down menu allows you to enroll with prompts regarding the information to be listed on the map and on your web page; and then you can proceed to Profile, where you may submit an Artist’s Statement as well as the titles of the images you will send us via email.

This will go a long way towards streamlining the process and making Chico artists and venues more and more visible.  Just yesterday, I did a search for a Chico artist on Google and found myself directed to our home page!

That’s the kind of visibility we want and the kind of flexibility that this new WordPress system gives us.

So exciting to be writing a new post on this new version of the website that we’ve been working on.  It’s almost ready to go, we’re almost there.  We have a tab for each of you, and there is a way now under the tab that says “membership” to renew right on line!

We’ve got great plans for next year, the Art Fiesta plans are moving right along, we’ve got one good new board member, Anne Gottlieb, and are about to have another.  The Chico ARTabouts are getting better and better every month, and the whole art scene in Chico is gaining vibrancy as we speak.

The holiday season is approaching and we’re excited that the new year will be bringing us many new and wonderful art-making, exhibiting, and marketing opportunities.
