For 23 years I’ve been creating unique stained glass art and jewelry using primarily the copper foil technique. Much of my work is 3-D, and also includes natural elements like branches, stones and shells. For the past five years I’ve been creating stained glass jewelry using tiny pieces of hand cut and shaped stained glass, hand shaped copper wire, and soldering pieces together with a lead free silver colored jewelry safe solder.
These smaller pieces are often challenging as the pieces are hard to grasp, but after years of practice, I’ve been able to make more detailed, intricate designs. I’ve recently been experimenting with fused glass, making rings, pendants, and earrings, and have combined these fused pieces with the copper foil technique used in most of my stained glass work.
I’m always challenging myself with new ideas, often pushing the boundaries of traditional stained glass. This has helped my work stand out from others using the same medium, making it unique and recognizable.
