I have been playing with clay since the 70’s. My favorite clay projects are whimsical animals. Usually, I draw a vision of a project first, then let the clay speak to me as I create; sometimes, a horse will become an elephant, a gargoyle, or a dog, as the clay seems to have a mind of its own. The element of surprise delights me and makes each animal unique. – Katy Wright
