Ellipse basket clay, 12″x6″x8”

As a young child, I loved playing in the mud. I still do. I love the physicality of clay and its immediate feedback from one’s touch. All this draws me in. This direct contact and response has led to me become a hand builder. The Porcelain is my choice of clay for its clean surface which I choose to decorate with both color and texture.

Being practical by nature, I chose to make objects to use: plates cups, vases. As such, I picture my work being handled and loved regularly. I like to think that they can be enjoyed both in use or simply in view. These everyday objects in our lives can make everyday a special occasion.

I love the endless exploration that this medium allows me. The journey with no end had continual appeal.

I have been working with clay for oh so many years and I NEVER grow tired of this medium. I love that the possibilities are endless.

Bird Houses, clay

I hand build all my work out of clay slabs, making everything from plates to cups to bird feeders and more. Besides my obsession with this medium, I am obsessed with texture, so much so, that in 2008 I became known as the pottery texture queen. My work is quirky, functional and fun, at least I think so!
