In addition to browsing at the art, listening to music, and all the other fun activities at the Chico ART Festival , we have a Call to Artists for a SketchOut Competition.
It’s a unique opportunity to draw, sketch and/or paint people, art, buildings, and landscapes and to compete to win a basket full of art supplies. Sign up at the information booth starting at 10 am. The subject of your art will be up to you as the artist. Once you have created your work of art, return it to the Information booth by noon where it will be on display. The visitors to the Art Festival will then be able to vote for their favorite artwork from 1 pm to 4 pm.
Prize: A basket of art supplies including a $50 gift certificate for Ellis Art. Ellis Art and Engineering has generously donated over $75 worth of art supplies.
Where: At the Chico ART Festival information booth on the beautiful grounds of St John’s Episcopal Church, 2341 Floral Avenue, Chico
When: Saturday, May 11, 10 am-Noon
How to Enter Competition: Stop by the Info Booth to sign up for the event and to receive paper for your art. All other art supplies must be provided by you the artist.
Winner announced at 3 pm: The winner of the competition will be chosen by public votes at the info booth. The artist does not need to be present to win (just be sure to leave contact details at the Information booth with your sketch).
