Susan Kirk has been making stacked ceramic sculptures for sixteen years. Her main components of the sculptures, large ceramic beads, reflect her attention to color, texture and the natural world: birds, plants, creeks, and rocks.
She gathers recycled metal to provide accents and space within the string of beads. Birds have been the subject of her art for most of her life. She hand builds her favorites to top most of her sculptures.
Her work is enjoyed in homes and gardens throughout the country.
Meet Susan Kirk and see her ceramic sculptures at the Chico ART Festival, May 12 & 13, 2023 outdoors at St John’s Episcopal Church on Floral Avenue in Chico.
I’m looking for a handmade cross that signifies California and wonder if you can help.
